Banana bread

Dry ingredients:

  • 1½ cup of all-purpose flour
  • ½ teaspoon of baking soda
  • ⅓ cup of granulated sugar
  • ⅓ cup of raisins
  • ½ teaspoon of nutmeg
  • ½ teaspoon of cinnamon

Wet ingredients:

  • ⅓ cup of unsalted butter
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 tablespoon of vanilla extract
  • 2 large bananas

Other equipment:

  • Bread loaf pan
  • Parchment paper

Yield: 5 servings

Step-by-step procedure:

  1. Preheat the oven to 350 degrees and place parchment paper in the bread loaf pan.
  2. Mash the bananas, add vanilla extract, egg and melted butter and mix evenly.
  3. Add sugar and raisins to the banana batter mixture and mix it in evenly.
  4. Add the remaining dry ingredients and mix until there is no dry flour. All mixing can be done by hand or using a mixer.
  5. Pour the batter in the baking dish and bake in the oven for approximately 40 minutes. Test for readiness by placing a toothpick in the bread. If there is no batter on the toothpick, the bread is ready.
  6. Place the bread on a cooling rack and serve once cooled.
