Adult Life 001

Being an adult is interesting. I remember being a teenager and desiring the freedom of adulthood. Now as an adult, I enjoy this freedom but the responsibility that comes with it always surprises me. Case in point: yesterday, I saw a spider in the dining area while I was enjoying my lunch. I’ve been seeing spiders in the house for a while now and I don’t like them. I thought to myself, “it’s time to move, our lease is almost up anyway.” I then got online and searched for available rental properties. The rent prices that I saw, coupled with remembering my other responsibilities and financial commitments made me swiftly change my online search to “how to get rid of spiders indoors”.

That moment where my freedom of choice and responsibility intersected was both funny and extremely humbling. I realized that I actually like where I live, I know there could be better and there will come a time to move but not because of something like spiders for which I can find a quick solution.
